Strong fits are self-published nonfiction authors in the firm’s subject areas: business, careers, work and life, parenting, health, diet and nutrition, food and cookbooks, self-help, human potential, and new age and spirituality. Authors with expertise to share on the news, a goal beyond sales, and the willingness to do interviews get the most from a campaign.
Look elsewhere if you write genre fiction and want reader-community marketing, or if your goal is retailer ads alone. A fiction specialist or an ad-focused service will usually fit better. And if you want to test publicity on a small budget first, a marketplace freelancer is a reasonable starting point: Reedsy reports a median of $1,370 for a one-month campaign, as cited by Everything PR, “Best Book Publicity Firms: 7 Companies Compared in 2026”.
